The Daily Telegraph ran a feature about Carbonix securing Safety Assurance Integrity Level (SAIL) III certification.
Working closely with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), Carbonix was able to prove a level of engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and operational maturity that unlocks long-range remote Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations across complex environments.
Founder and CEO Dario Valenza said the milestone marks an important turning point for both Carbonix and the broader Australian drone sector, “Australia has developed some of the world’s most advanced drone technology. This milestone demonstrates the maturity and sophistication of the industry and supply chain. Working with the regulator to understand how to apply the relatively new international assessment framework creates an important pathway toward safe, scalable autonomous aviation operations in Australia.”
The certification shows that long-range drones, when properly engineered, tested, and documented, can progress from experimental technology to become trusted aviation systems. Read the full article here.
